Year 2024: In the 2024 breeding season, Sněhurka was caught at a nest in a field near Káranice railway station. This nesting attempt was unsuccessful. Since June, she has been roaming the fields near the villages of Káranice, Kosičky, Obědovice, and has been flying to Písek near Chlumec nad Cidlinou. Since July, she has frequently been spotted at the sandpit near Lhota pod Libčany, together with other tagged lapwings.
Sněhurka began her migration to her wintering grounds on October 21st. She crossed Germany near Nuremberg and continued into France. She stayed near Vitry-le-François in the Grand Est region from October 23rd until November 11th. After that, she flew directly to Spain without longer stops. There, she settled 130 km north of Seville, where she stayed until the end of the year.
Year 2025: At the beginning of 2025, Sněhurka was in the southwest of Spain, in the area between the autonomous communities of Extremadura and Andalusia, north of Córdoba.
She began her return migration on 7.3., following a similar route to that of her autumn migration. After a five-day stop in France near Vitry-le-François, she arrived at the Czech German border on 24.3. There, unexpectedly, she took a brief detour towards Dresden, but by 26.3., she continued further into the interior of the Czech Republic.
From 27.3., she remained in the area around Chlumec nad Cidlinou, primarily near Káranice. Her nesting took place in a wetland near Kosičky. During the season, she attempted to breed three times in total, but all attempts were unsuccessful, each due to predation.
She set off on migration on 13.10., travelling through France, where she did not stay for long. She reached her wintering grounds in Spain on 11.11. She is spending the winter in southern Spain, in the area around Seville.
