Year 2024: During the 2024 breeding season, she was captured on a nest in a field between Horní Ředice and Rovensko, but the nesting attempt was unsuccessful. She then nested 8 km further south of Rovensko, where she successfully hatched chicks.
Jezinka initially set off on her migration on July 5. However, just beyond the Czech border in Germany, she turned back and flew as far as the Pohořelecké ponds in Moravia, where she stayed for a week. She then attempted to head west again, but in Germany, she changed her mind once more and turned back towards the Czech Republic, this time to Kladruby (Plzeň region). Finally, on July 18, she set off for Germany again and stopped near Luxembourg. From July 20, she stayed in France near Laon and Soissons (the northernmost of our tagged lapwings) for over three months until November. At the beginning of November, she began moving southward, passing through Paris to Orléans, and then to Tours, where she remained until the end of the year.
Year 2025: In January 2025, Jezinka continued to stay on the fields near Tours, where she continued wintering. On 13.1., she was even directly observed on a field near the village of Cigogné.
She began her spring migration on 22.2. but remained in France until 5.3. She then moved to the Czech German border, where she stayed for four days, crossing the Czech Republic’s border on 12.3. Her destination was again the area around Holice in the Pardubice Region. She arrived there via the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area, Benátky nad Jizerou, and Chlumec nad Cidlinou. Unfortunately, her transmitter stopped transmitting on 16.3., and Jezinka’s fate remains unknown.
